Called Dragon Age: Origins – Awakening , it takes place in Amaranthine and features new enemies, new abilities and spells, specializations and items. The player can either carry over an old character or create a new one – a Grey Warden from Orlais. There will also be five new companions to recruit, but it’s unclear whether the original  companions will still be available. The expansion also features an arch enemy in the person of the Architect, a character introduced in “The Calling”, a book written by David Gaider set about 20 years before the game.

Gaming news site Eurogamer reportedly saw the ad for a PC expansion on several online retailers, and Kotaku reported similar sitings of an XBox 360 expansion.  The reports are consistent though – the expansion had a release date of March 2010!
