The Rift Project is a planned and a work-in-progress “plug-in” or “add-in” package for the game, Dragon Age: Origins. The Rift Project Community plans on releasing this content by no later than April ‘10 in a state that is “far superior quality” than previously known community type game-mods.
Dragon Age: The Rift will start its modified scheduled events when it comes time for the player to make the “ritual” decision with Morrigan. From there the mod remains pretty much invisible until the end of the game and the player returns by hitting the “resume” button. From there the player will be allowed to re-visit cities and areas previously closed off to them by the original game structure but will be immediately caught by a cut-scene describing that now, 19 years has passed since the victory over the arch demon. This cut-scene is tailored ro the player’s game and will describe the changes that the player has brought onto the lands.
The player will then have new challenges, new allies, and new lands to explore to stop the impending apocalypse that destiny has in store. The only hope for man-kind now rests in your hands! With new choices, new monsters, new weapons, and a new leveling system, we presume that this content will add more than 40 playable game hours!
Right now this content is in development; progress is slow because of the small team we have working on it; however if you should want to volunteer to help in this project please let us know in the forums.

This project is a mod for Dragon Age: Origins. You can download the game and license from Direct2Drive.com for only $39.95.
NOTE: There are other distributions of Dragon Age: Origins that you can get, such as the Deluxe edition which will grant you specail in-game items and the sound-track. It is suggested that you shop for the distribution that most fits you before buying. Direct2Drive has all available retail distributions and there is no DVD needed to play the game, however internet access is required to activate the game.

We are hoping to provide everyone with a drama and experience that is unmatched by any experience to date
well, so when you say new levelling system, what does that mean? And are you using all environment assets from the editor or are you importing new stuff like deserts, jungles etc…… ? would it be possible to name the zones we can visit? It seems like a lot of work so good luck.
how many people are there actually making the mod (apart from story writing, design, ideas, art)
wish i could mod myself but its so hard to get started.
Many people will be max level (25) or close to that when they start this expansion or half-way through it. Therefor we have had to implement a new leveling system to the game that would give the player a feeling of accomplishment once they have capped off at level 25.
There will be new “levels” or lands as well, but “leveling system” is meaning the means in which your character primarily advances in the content.
So far as “lands” we have in plan for deserts, dense forests, mountains, and ocean islands.
I have a question about the teaser. It says that the hero married a woman who travelled with him and she borned a child. Is it about Morrigan? As for as I understood, she had told that the hero would never see her again.
I will try to answer that question without giving any spoilers. Yes indeed, you are right about Morrigan saying that, but 1) Morrigan doesn’t hold a monopoly on child-bearing and 2) “never” is not a word anyone should use unless they can see the future and as far as we know, Morrigan didn’t have that gift.

@Bogdan ukr: The trailer is very specific in saying “You married the one closest to your heart.” It didn’t specify “female” or “male”
. Though yes, if you have a relationship with a party member (besides Morrigan) of the opposite sex which is the most common outcome of the game, the trailer fits right along with it.
The trailer was very generalized in trying to fit all outcomes, and after hitting roadblock after roadblock, we decided to find the most “common ground” and run with it.
The expansion will accommodate EVERY POSSIBLE RELATIONSHIP, though the trailer may not fit; the expansion will be capable of immersing the player into a new story of betrayal, epic quests, and a new impending apocalypse.

Oh man, i LOVED the teaser, i cant wait for the game to come out. I mean im a girl so im a romance freak, so i have a question: will this one have like more romantic options, cause i mean after i had romanced alistair all you could do was kiss or bed him, as a girls p.o.v. i’d like more options like cuddling by the fire or something, in my p.o.v.? anyways super exctied!! good luck!!
